Apparently, friends and well wishers of the new CAF president were overjoyed as the man from Madagascar defeated Cameroon’s Issa Hayatou in the CAF presidential election. Issa Hayatou had been president of CAF since 1988. Indeed it’s the end of an era in African football. Also, Nigeria’s Amaju Pinnick won a CAF executive seat.
